The Lady Captain of Malahide, Noreen Webb, welcomed the representatives of the Clubs and said that whilst Malahide had hosted the inaugural golf outing, it was felt that future activities of the Association should be managed by the participating clubs.

Various ideas were discussed and it was finally agreed that: -

  1. The name shall be “The North Dublin Lady Captains’ Golfing Association”.
  2. The Association should be managed by a Committee consisting of a Past or Present Lady Captain representing each of the North Dublin Clubs.
  3. The competition shall be held yearly, alternating between an 18-hole and 9-hole course.
  4. The Lady Captain of the Club holding the Competition should act as host.
  5. The Northern Bank Trophy shall be awarded to the winning club team.
  6. To be eligible for the Club Team an associate must be a Past or Present Captain of the club to which she currently belongs.
  7. The three best scores shall be taken for the trophy.  If a tie results the fourth card shall be taken.
  8. Prizes will be purchased from funds – no prizes to be solicited.

It was agreed that the six 18-hole course Clubs would participate in a draw and the first club drawn out would, if they so wished, host the Competition for 1976.  The first Club drawn out was Skerries.

Miss Betty Murphy, Lady Captain Skerries, said they would be in a position to host the competition.

It was also agreed that as Malahide had hosted the inaugural meeting they would still be considered in the draw for 9-hole Clubs in 1977.

A Friday towards the end of April was considered to be a suitable date for the competition.

The next meeting was fixed for Monday, 24th November at 9pm in Malahide Golf Club.

The meeting then adjourned.
