Welcome to Apple Tree Organic Farm. Located just outside Pretoria, adjacent to the Northern Dinokeng Gate, you will find a small family-run farm where the focus is on raising quality poultry. We strive to bring you only the best tasting chicken and eggs, utilizing the most natural methods and adhering to the highest standards of both quality and ethics.
Our Story
When Oliver and Sheila Lopes decided to give up city life and move to a quieter life in the countryside, they had no idea that they would end up running a small free-range poultry farm. But raising poultry proved to be exactly what they wanted to do…and Apple Tree Organic Farm was born. It quickly became apparent that the “standard” and “accepted” way of raising poultry wasn’t going to work for them. So they looked to Nature, using time, patience, sunshine and fresh air as their inspiration. The created their own housing modules, feeding systems and care methods…all of which they were told by “experts” would “never work” and which are still in use today
